Last weekend I finally got to the place that had been on my mind for so much time but because of the pandemic I was not able to go there. At long last I managed to spend some time there and in this post I will share with you my impressions from this unique stay and accomodation in a spherical tent.
The place is called Vegan House and is located in the Bystrzyckie Mountains which are part of the Sudetes. The idea of the owner was to create the first place in Poland for vegan glamping. What is glamping? Glamping is a portmanteau of “glamorous” and “camping”. It is a style of camping with amenities and/or resort-style services not usually associated with “traditional” camping. In Vegan House cente you can sleep in spherical tents equipped with furniture, air conditioner, heating and bathroom. And, of course, each tent has a large panoramic window.
No i – rzecz jasna – każdy namiot ma wielkie okno panoramiczne.
The Vegan House centre is not limited to the tents: there is also a sauna, a restaurant and a picnic/bonfire area. Also, the surroundings of the place are beautiful and offer plenty of opportunities for an active vacation: lots of hiking routes and beautiful little towns.
Since the place is called Vegan House food is an important aspect there… and yes, you have guessed, it’s all vegan! Meat eaters should not be afraid though: the meals are really tasty and portions are rather big. In each tent there is also a fridge and a cattle so you can have snacks and tea there.
Now I have to share with you the best thing about my stay at Vegan House: it was completely free! How did it happen? Well, the centre often organises barters: you help the staff with their current work and you get the accomodation and food for free. It is real work so don’t think I washed the dishes once – I worked around 6 hours for two days and got a third day off.
Is Vegan House a perfect holiday destination for everyone? Definitely not. Staying in the tents is a great experience but you have to remember these are only tents: the temperature inside won’t be as in a hotel and during the cold nights you have to dedicate some time to light the fireplace inside. I would recommend this place to those who like being outdoors, love the mountains and do not need a 5 star hotel when they go on holiday. At the end of the day glamping is still – kind of – camping. 🙂
Bo glamping to przecież wciąż – w pewnym sensie – camping 🙂
