During my stay in Toronto I went to Toronto Islands for a few hours (I would have stayed longer but I didn’t have much time – I wanted to see as much as possible in Toronto as well).
Podczas mojego pobytu w Toronto udałam się na Wyspy Torontońskie na parę godzin (na pewno zostałabym dłużej, ale niestety mój czas był ograniczony – trzeba było przecież zwiedzić też samo Toronto!)
I was really impressed how different the islands are to the city centre (which is just a 10 minute boat ride away). It’s so peaceful there: such a great place for a bike ride, chilling on the beach, coffee in a lovely cafe or just a relaxing walk. Also, the view of Toronto from there is really great. It feels a bit surreal to see this massive city which seems really close and so far at the same time.
Wyspy są zupełnie inne niż centrum Toronto (a przecież dzieli je zaledwie 10-minutowa podróż promem). Jest tam bardzo spokojne i zacisznie, to idealne miejsce na przejażdżkę rowerem, leniuchowanie na plaży, kawę w uroczej kafejce czy po prostu spacer. Poza tym panorama Toronto widziana stamtąd robi naprawdę wielkie wrażenie. To wielkie miasto wydaje się niedaleko i zarazem bardzo odległe.
Getting to Toronto Islands is fun: the ferries in use today date back to the 1930s and are a historic connection to Toronto’s past. Moreover, the ferry ride provides for some of the most spectacular views of the famous Toronto skyline.
Już sama podróż na Wyspy Torontońskie jest frajdą samą w sobie: promy są z lat 30-tych i odegrały znaczącą rolę w historii Toronto. Poza tym to właśnie z promu możemy podziwiać najlepiej słynną linię horyzontu tego miasta.
I’m sure that Toronto Islands are a great place to hang out during weekends for those living in Toronto and an absolute must for the tourist visiting the biggest Canadian city!
Wyspy Torontońskie to dla mieszkańców Toronto z pewnością idealne miejsce, by spędzić wolne popołudnie bądź weekend, natomiast turystom gorąco polecam chociaż chwilę na wyspach, naprawdę warto!
