7 reasons to visit Como

1. It’s beautiful

The most important reason: the sourrounfings of the Como Lake are inscredibly picturesque. The town of Como combines the charm of Italian architecture, mountain view and Alpine atmosphere.

2. It’s easy to get there

Como is around 50 km from Milan and there are many trains that get to Como in less than 40 mins (leaving from different Milan stations). Moreover, Malpensa airport – the biggest in this part of Italy – is situated also only 50 km away.

Como jest oddalone zaledwie 50 km od Mediolanu, skąd wyjeżdża wiele pociągów (z różnych mediolańskich stacji), które do Como docierają w mniej niż 40 minut. Ponadto, największe lotnisko w tej części Włoch, Malpensa, znajduje się także 50 km od Como.

3. There’s plenty of things to do there

Although Como is quite small, it has so much to offer: boat trips, cable car to Brunate (a village almost directly above Como), street markets, beautiful villas to see and attractions for children.

3. Mnóstwo atrakcjiMimo że Como jest dość małe, oferuje turystom wiele atrakcji: rejsy statkami, kolejka górska do Brunate (wioski położonej niemal dokładnie nad Como), targi uliczne, piękne wille oraz zabawy dla dzieci.

4. It’s a perfect place to chill

If you want to relax then long walks and chilling by the lake is a perfect solution. I went to Como at the end of April and the place wasn’t too crowded – it may not be the case during the summer, so if you want to properly rest in Como, then plan your trip there in April/May or September/October.

4. Idealne miejsce na relaks

Jeśli szukasz miejsca, w którym można się odprężyć, to długie spacery i relaks nad jeziorem są idealnym rozwiązaniem. Pojechałam do Como pod koniec kwietnia i nie było tam jeszcze wielu turystów (co z pewnością zmienia się latem), a pogoda była idealna: było ciepło i słonecznie, ale jeszcze nie upalnie, dlatego też myślę, że dla spragnionych odpoczynku najlepszymi miesiącami na wyprawę do Como są kwiecień, maj oraz wrzesień i październik.

5. Food is great

This can certainly to the whole country but the food I had in Como was so good that I have to mention it 🙂 When looking for a place to eat, definitely choose restaurants where the locals go as there are many touristy places just by the lake that serve overprized and not that good food.

5. Pyszne jedzenie

Jedzenie można chwalić na całym Półwyspie Apenińskim, ale pyszności w Como zapadły mi w pamięć, dlatego nie mogę o nich nie wspomnieć 🙂 Szukając restauracji zdecydowanie odradzam turystyczne miejsca tuż przy wodzie: ceny tam są wysokie, a jedzenie na pewno ich nie warte. W Como jadłam w restauracjach, w których jedli głównie miejscowi smakosze.

6. North of Italy at its best

I am a big fan of the North of Italy and I think it’s extremely unfair to say that the South of the country is much more worth visiting than the North. To me Como is the quintessence of the “Nord”: charming, clean with beautiful, mountainous views and atmosphere.

Brera – bohemian quarter in the heart of Milan

Everyone knows Notting Hill or Montmartre, but have you heard of Brera?

The district is one of most distinctive places in Milan. Located in the very centre of the city (literally 5 minutes walk from the Duomo Square), it is home to the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and the Brera Art Gallery which definitely influence the atmosphere – very often described as bohemian – of the place. During the Fashion Week many events take place in Brera and the district is often decorated during that time; for example by hundreds of umbrellas floating above the streets (Feb 2017).

Brera is made of many tiny streets that create a unique maze. It is full of small art shops, colorful streets markets, restaurants and bars where people tend to sit outside and enjoy their aperitivo.

A place like no other!

To jedno z najbardziej charakterystycznych miejsc w Mediolanie. Brera znajduje się nieopodal centrum, zaledwie pięć minut piechotą od Placu Duomo – głównego placu miasta. Mieszczą się tam Pinakoteka Brera oraz Akademia Sztuk Pięknych i nie da się ukryć, że w całej dzielnicy poczuć można artystyczny klimat. Brera tętni życiem zwłaszcza w trakcie Tygodnia Mody, a dzielnica jest na ten czas specjalnie dekorowana; w lutym tego roku rozwieszono na jej ulicach setki parasoli.

Brera to mnóstwo uliczek tworzących swoisty labirynt, w którym znajdziemy galerie i sklepiki, uliczne ryneczki, restauracje i bary, w których mieszkańcy Mediolanu i nie tylko rozkoszują się aperitivo.
