Postcards from Wrocław

Although Wrocław is less than 200 km away from my hometown, I only went there for the first time last year. Since then I have been three times to Wrocław: the city has much to offer and its Old Town is really beautiful. Last weekend I didn’t get to take many nice pictures as on the first day it was raining all the time.

Wrocław jest oddalony od Poznania niecałe 200 km, a mimo to dotarłam tam po raz pierwszy na dłużej dopiero w zeszłym roku. Od tego czasu odwiedziłam to miasto już trzy razy trzy, zawsze miło tam wracać, bo dużo się dzieje, a starówka jest przeurocza. Niestety nie udało mi się zrobić wielu dobrych zdjęć, bo pierwszego dnia cały czas lało jak z cebra.

The main square and its sourrounding are wonderfully colourful. This is also the most vibrant part of the city, definitely the best places to hang around are in the centre.

The same applies to restaurants: the best are in the central area. Amongst different things I have eaten in Wrocław I have to say that the city has great breakfasts. Going out for breakfast is still relatively new idea in Poland and only recently restaurands and bars have included breakfast options in their menus so it’s quite a challenge to find a good place for breakfast. Here Wrocław hasn’t disappointed, I had lovely (and not expensive) food at Le Chef and Dinette.

Rynek i jego okolice zachwycają kolorami, jest to też najbardziej żywa część miasta, to z pewnością tam warto udać się na piwo czy kawę.

To samo zresztą dotyczy restauracji: najlepsze są w centrum. Spośród różnych rzeczy, które miałam okazję zjeść we Wrocławiu, na największy plus zasługują według mnie śniadania. Zwyczaj jadania śniadań na mieście jest przecież w Polsce dość nowy i dopiero w ostatnich latach niektóre restauracje i knajpki postarały się o śniadaniowe menu z prawdziwego zdarzenia, dlatego znalezienie dobrego miejsca na śniadanie nie należy do łatwych zadań. Wrocław jednak nie zawiódł, zjadłam pyszne śniadania w dogodnej cenie w Le Chef i Dinette.
